Job Description

Industry: Aerospace
Job Type: Full Time

Summary:
We’re looking for a highly skilled and driven eVTOL Aircraft Stress Engineer with 6 – 10 years of expertise to join
our unique engineering team. This role entails preparing stress analysis of structural parts, including classical
analyses, Finite Element techniques and hand calculations for developing electric vertical take-off and landing
(eVTOL) aircraft.

Key Responsibilities:
 Prepare stress analyses of both composite and mechanical structural components using classical analyses,
Finite Element techniques, and hand calculations.
 Write and check stress reports to support product definition, identify technical problems and
apply/integrate solutions.
 Ensure that the aircraft structure is certifiable by following state of the art stress analysis methods.
 Participate in design reviews, execute trade-off studies to validate design solutions.
 Evaluate & challenge design concepts to deliver optimal structures to ensure safety, manufacturability,
maintainability, inspectability etc.
 Perform all activities at a level of minimal supervision, with an optimum balance between quality, budget
and time and support other engineers with peer-to-peer reviews.
 The stress engineer along with a team of engineers will report via a designated Lead through to the relevant
Stress Lead for the Programme(s).
 Delivery will require physical attendance at customer facilities for key meetings and design reviews,
although an element of hybrid working between customer offices and Supplier offices is acceptable, this will
be driven by customer/project requirements.
 Ensure own and teams’ quality of deliveries.
 Act as the technical interface with certification authorities to ensure compliance with airworthiness and
certification standards.

 Bachelor’s or master’s degree in aerospace engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
 6 – 10 years of experience as structural engineer preferably with a focus of eVTOL aircraft industry.
 Excellent knowledge of Aero primary and secondary structures, Wing, Empennage and Fuselage.
 Proficiency in metallic and composite structural analysis methodologies.
 Strong background in classical hand calculation methods and the use of industry-standard reference
materials.
 Experience with finite element analysis software’s like Hypermesh, Nastran/Patran (especially non-linear
solver 400)
 Experience in Simcenter 3D, HyperX/Hypersizer and Abaqus solver tools is an added benefit.

 Product Lifecycle Management (Windchill)
 Microsoft Office Tools and MS Project
 Good experience of aerospace Composite /Metallic materials and manufacturing processes.
 Strong emphasis on technical report writing including stress dossiers like Preliminary Stress Reports (PSR),
Justification Stress Report (JSR) etc.,
 Knowledge of relevant aviation regulations and certification processes (e.g., FAA, EASA) is highly desirable.
 Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex engineering problems and propose effective
solutions.
 Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic VBA scripting.
